Match TV pushed back the launch of its own betting shop

The sport TV channel Match TV pushed back the launch of its betting shop “Match Stavka”, Kommersant reports.

According to the press service of the channel, experts had much time to study the betting market and, based on feedback from key players, create the best cooperation system.

Some associate new date with a change of management of the channel. Last autumn, sub-holding Gazprom-Media Entertainment TV under the leadership of the founder of Comedy Club Production Artur Dzhanibekyan and his first deputy Vladimir Chopov took the operational control of the channel. The new managers either did not see the standing partner, or are not sure in the sustainability of the project.

Another explanation is a small amount of airtime (20% of the nine minutes of all advertising per hour), allotted by law to advertise bookmakers.

The channel registered trademarks “Match Bet” and “Match! Stavka” in the summer of 2017, and announced a tender for partnership among bookmakers to organize rates with new branding in the autumn. Match TV was going to decide the winner before the beginning of December, and to launch the campaign in 2018.

According to Kommersant, the channel negotiated with the bookmaker giants Liga stavok and Fonbet, but did not reach cooperation.

The partners of Match TV would have to sacrifice their own brand and website: according to legislation, the owner of the license has the right to have one site only. And not everyone would like to do this, the source comments.
