No more VPNs: the State Duma has adopted the draft law that forbids Internet anonymizers

The bill has been passed in the second reading. The overwhelming majority of deputies (362) casted affirmative votes.

The draft law forbids all services, programs, and search engines that allow users to conceal their IP addresses and as a result to visit the resources that are on the banned list in Russia. The FSB and the MIA will be responsible for the detection of violations.

In addition, a system of penalties is envisaged for search engines that provide links to forbidden resources. They can receive fines in the amount of 700,000 rubles.
